Orbit Invariants and an Application to the Baby Monster

چکیده
We prove that the minimal base size for the permutation action of the sporadic simple Baby monster group B on the cosets of its 7th and 8th maximal subgroup is 3 and 2 respectively. Motivated by the large sizes of these permutation actions, we develop new computational methods to prove that an orbit is regular and to show that two orbits are disjoint.

Enumerating big orbits and an application: B acting on the cosets of Fi23
We describe a novel technique to handle big permutation domains for large groups. It is applied to the multiplicity-free action of the sporadic simple Baby Monster group on the cosets of its maximal subgroup Fi23, to determine the character table of the associated endomorphism ring.
متن کاملNew Improvement in Interpretation of Gravity Gradient Tensor Data Using Eigenvalues and Invariants: An Application to Blatchford Lake, Northern Canada
Recently, interpretation of causative sources using components of the gravity gradient tensor (GGT) has had a rapid progress. Assuming N as the structural index, components of the gravity vector and gravity gradient tensor have a homogeneity degree of -N and - (N+1), respectively. In this paper, it is shown that the eigenvalues, the first and the second rotational invariants of the GGT (I1 and ...
متن کاملOn the action of the sporadic simple Baby Monster group on its conjugacy class 2B
We determine the character table of the endomorphism ring of the permutation module associated with the multiplicity-free action of the sporadic simple Baby Monster group B on its conjugacy class 2B, where the centraliser of a 2B-element is a maximal subgroup of shape 2.Co2. This is one of the first applications of a new general computational technique to enumerate big orbits. Mathematics Subje...
متن کامل2A-orbifold construction and the baby-monster vertex operator superalgebra
In this article we prove that the full automorphism group of the baby-monster vertex operator superalgebra constructed by Höhn is isomorphic to 2×B, where B is the baby-monster sporadic finite simple group, and determine irreducible modules for the baby-monster vertex operator algebra. Our result has many corollaries. In particular, we can prove that the Z2-orbifold construction with respect to...
متن کاملSpelling Rules for the Monster/semple Tower
We further study the incidence relations that arise from the various subtowers, known as Baby Monsters, which exist within the R-Monster Tower. This allows us to complete the RV T class spelling rules. We also present a method of calculating the various Baby Monsters that appear within the Monster Tower.
